Dear Kathy,
I am writing you this email with pain in my heart and the
tears running down my face...
My beautiful princess, my best friend in
the world, my soulmate, your Quince's daughter Quincy's Bita Blue passed away
last Monday, March 10th. My angel was diagnosed with extremely agressive
'frog cancer' (hope this is the correct name for the illness > cancer in the
inside of her foot). The farrier explained to me that the cancer was probably
there a long time on the inside where we couldn't see, but didn't cause her any
pain or problems. Until it broke out.
Since she was in a
tremendeous amount of pain, I saved my angel from her pain and she was humainly
euthanised last Monday at 4.30pm (Dutch Time). I believe I have made the
right descision, though it was a very hard one. I always promised my girl
that she would never have to live in pain, so I kept my promise. It's the most
fair for my princess.
Quincy was cremated last Tuesday and I can
collect her ashes this Saturday. Her ashes will get a beautiful and special
place in my livingroom; I'm having a special urn (jar) designed for
her. My Quincy was and for always will be the most special soulmate,
friend, love of my live and best buddy I'll ever have...
Since you have
always been so very kind to both me and Quincy and gave her the honor of having
a whole webpage dedicated to her, I thought I should let you know.
God
bless and please remember to celebrate everyday you get to enjoy your loved
ones...

This set of emails below rejuvenated my thinking about the real reason I love breeding horses. To have a current owner contact you about one that has made an impact in their life, and vice versa, is, to me, what it is all about. I love my Quince and my other horses. It is so rewarding to know that others appreciate them too. Kathy

Dear George & Kathy,
Just a short email from The Netherlands to let
you know I am the proud co-owner of a Sir Quincy Dans Grey daughter named
Quincy's Bita Blue. She will be 15 years old this April and looks very much
like her handsome daddy. I've taken the liberty of attaching some pictures
(like a proud owner does).
She also
featured in an car-ad during the holiday-season. We have a holiday named
'Sinterklaas' (an older man who brings kids gifts on a horse, much like your
Santa Claus). The ad states that Sinterklaas exchanged his horse for a new
car.
I hope you don't mind me sending you this email, but I was just
overwhelmed with joy when I found out that her dad is still a stud! Many
thanks in advance!
Kindest Regards and God Bless, Talitha from The

Dear Kathy,
How lovely to hear from you so quick!! It's great to hear
that you're so enthusiastic about my email. Quincy was born in 2003
in the USA, went to Canada at the age of one and came to The Netherlands at the
age of three.
My story with Quincy is quite complex;
In 2000 I had to put
my horse down, since he was diagnosed with heavy artroses. He was 18 years old
and my world collapsed... The same day a lady arrived at our stables with
Quincy and her foal (his name is Quincy's Sir Mylo > he's a stud in
Holland!). Everyone at the stables was madly in love with Mylo since he was a
very beautiful foal. However I took one glance at Quincy and fell in love. I
can't exactly say why, I can only say that the look in her eyes touched me
deeply; she got no attention at all and her foal was in the spotlights. I
guess I just have a weak spot for sad horses.
Starting that day Quincy became my soulmate; we took
long rides in the woods, we trained hard, we cuddled and spend every day
together. Quincy's dam is Wild Orchid. I was unable to find out
more information on her unfortunately.
Many blessings to you and your husband, Talitha
